If you are planning a trip to a Premier League match next season, ticket experts FanSeats have answered some of the most frequently asked questions. Whether you are going to Old Trafford, Anfield, or Villa Park, most teams have similar policies in place for fans. Here, we will discuss the main things you should know before you go.
Pre-Match Tours and Museums
For security reasons, most Premier League stadiums do not allow museum and stadium tours on match days. If this is something you would like to do, we recommend visiting the day before or after the match. The museum and tours offer a great way to learn more about the football club, go behind the scenes, and experience the rich history and heritage of the team.
How Early to Arrive at the Stadium
All Premier League stadiums open the turnstiles at least 90 minutes to 3 hours before the game. While most fans arrive at the stadium around 30 minutes before the game, we recommend entering at least 1 hour prior. This way, queues for the turnstiles, food, and drinks will be shorter.
For fans traveling with young children, we recommend arriving around 2 hours before the game, if possible. We also recommend getting to your seat 30 minutes before kick-off.
What to Expect at the Turnstiles
Unless you have VIP hospitality tickets, you will enter through the turnstiles to access the stadium. These revolving gates allow one person to pass at a time after scanning your match ticket. With most tickets being digital, ensure your phone has sufficient battery to display your ticket.
There will be matchday stewards at most stadium turnstiles to assist in case of any issues.
Tip: To avoid any problems, wait for the fan ahead of you to leave the other side of the turnstile before entering.
Please note that turnstiles for most Premier League clubs will close at half-time.
Which Premier League Team is the Easiest to Get Tickets for?
While most Premier League matches are in high demand, the cheapest tickets on FanSeats are for Manchester City, Everton, Brentford, and Aston Villa.
Can I bring a bag into the stadium?
Whilst each stadium has a different policy and rules, most allow you to bring small bags into the game. However, some teams have more precise rules than others. Old Trafford does have a bag drop (fee) for bags over 20cm x 15cm x 5cm whilst Liverpool’s Anfield stadium only allows Small bags (A5 paper size or smaller) and has no storage facilities. Check the official stadium website for updated information.
Most clubs allow bags containing official merchandise purchased from the store.
What is the Biggest Game of the Premier League Season?
The biggest game of every Premier League season is Liverpool vs Manchester United. Tickets are always in the highest demand and often sell for around £300+. Seat-Compare.com has average prices listed in the range of £112 and £350 per ticket.
Sitting in the Away End
For away fans, it is important that you get tickets to sit in the away section of the stadium. The away section is clearly marked. Arrive early and enter the stadium through the correct turnstile. Once inside, it will not be possible to walk into the home end.
Can I Re-Enter the Stadium?
As with most live events, it is not possible to re-enter the stadium once you leave. This no-return policy is in force for all Premier League games. Keep this in mind if you decide to leave early.
Attending a Premier League match is an exciting experience, but it requires some planning.
Arrive at the stadium early to avoid queues and enjoy the atmosphere and be sure to follow stadium policies to ensure a smooth visit.
We hope to have answered any of your questions to help you make the most of your matchday experience. Enjoy the game!
