LuvLink conducted a survey of 3,000 seasoned travelers to find out where in the U.S. they encountered the most kind-hearted and helpful locals. From this data, they compiled a list of the top 150 places known for their hospitality and genuine human connection. The top 10 are listed below.
#1 Savannah, Georgia
Savannah claims the number one spot, with its residents known for their Southern charm and deeply rooted hospitality. LuvLink’s survey revealed more than just the cities with the warmest hospitality. When travelers were asked about the most memorable act of kindness they experienced in Washington, 42% said locals offered them directions or assistance, while 25% noted that a local had helped them during an emergency or unexpected situation.
Additionally, 17% of respondents were invited to a local event or gathering, and 16% said they had been offered a ride or were personally guided by a local – illustrating the lengths that residents in these hospitable towns go to make visitors feel welcome.
The survey also explored how important local hospitality is in choosing a travel destination. Over half of the respondents (52%) said it was very important, while 31% rated it as somewhat important. Only 4% claimed it wasn’t very important, underscoring the significance of kindness and community spirit when it comes to planning a trip.
The impact of hospitality goes beyond just a single visit. A whopping 85% of travelers said they had returned to a destination specifically because of the kindness they experienced and the friendships formed during a previous trip, proving that warm welcomes can have a lasting influence on travel decisions and leave beautiful memories to be captured and cherished.
