This month a new restaurant will be opening in London. Roof Deck Restaurant & Bar is a collaboration between Selfridges and Des McDonald, the restaurateur. Located on Oxford’s Street in London, the restaurant will have a relaxed and Californian vibe as it attempts to deliver an American West Coast ethos to the heart of London. The restaurant will be on the rooftop of Selfridges, and will be perfect for guests this Spring and Summer.
The visitors will enter the restaurant on a boardwalk that is lined with timber beams as well as tropical plants. The restaurant will have a fully retractable roof which will make it a top location even if the weather turns a little more British than Californian. For those sunny days, the guests at Roof Deck can enjoy a frozen cocktail while observing the London skyline. There will also be relaxed seating as well as a hideaway in the cabana part of the restaurant which is sheltered and decorated by drapes and twinkling lights.
The Roof Deck Restaurant & Bar will be open from 11 every day and will serve food from an all-day menu that will include healthy salads, grains and seafood. The cocktail list will offer classic favourites as well as a number of new offerings including Green cucumber and chilli margarita. There will also be a bar snacks menu, for guests wanting a little something to go with their drinks.
The design of the restaurant is heavily influenced by California and a West Coast lifestyle, with décor such as parquet flooring to hint at a beach bar. There will also be low hanging wicker lighting and green succulents to decorate the space along with tropical foliage in terracotta plant pots. The fresh healthy vibe from the décor and the food will make the Roof Deck the perfect location for a sunny day in London this season.
